Default New 2 Paragons

Hello to all the Paragon experts...

I recently created a Paragon and I find the class to be pretty fun so far. My build right now is based mostly on motivation because of the few skills available to me at the moment. I'm thinking of the future now and just wondering if the build I'm thinking of using is any good or not.

-Skills-

1.Flurry
2.Focused Anger
3.Go for the Eyes
4.Find Their Weakness
5.There's Nothing to Fear!
6.Save Yourself!
7.Leader's Comfort
8.Signet of Return

-Attributes-

8+1 Spear Mastery
10 Command
12+1+1 Leadership

Reasoning behind this is Flurry in combination with Focused Anger to fuel my adren based skills. Comments and suggestions are welcome...like I said I'm new to the Paragon class.

Its not a bad build. Its probably pretty good at keeping everyone alive Constant damage reduction and pretty much constant +100 armour, sounds pretty standard to me! Although, i would replace "find their weakness!" with [card]Vicious Attack[/card]. Just to up your damage a little bit, although your original idea is entirely viable also.

9 spear mastery and flurry isn't going to really kill anything.

I'd take his build over the crap builds I see with 7 attack skills + rez. But yeah...

11+2+1...Spear
10+1......Command(if you insist on using it, which it isn't helping THAT much.)
10+2......Leadership

Drop Flurry
Drop Find Their Weakness
Possibly Leader's Comfort

And take some of these:
Vicious Attack
Spear of Lightning
Aggressive Refrain
Spear of Fury
Blazing Spear
Anthem of Flame

Edit: And yes, I said to take 2 major runes. Ranged with 106+ armor is more than enough to survive with slightly lower health.

Well the point isn't really to be a damage dealer. It was mostly an idea to increase adren to keep the party buffed as often as possible. What would you suggest?

I can't see the justiication of 11 command for "Go For The Eyes!" and then using a Major Leadership rune to meet the breakpoint on leadership.

Aggressive Refrain. To a lesser extent Flail if your build isn't adrenaline heavy.

If I split attributes I like to go with 10 10 11, makes me feel comfortable for some reason since I spread them out in the most optimal way. Really, I would just go with 12 spear 12 leadership, 3 command.....but since he invested into command, I figured may as well leave it like that.

Aggressive Refrain. To a lesser extent Flail if your build isn't adrenaline heavy.
I wanted to invest heavy in Command for Go for the eyes and find their weakness. I thought it would be a good combination since obviously with go for the eyes a lot of people in the party should be getting critical hits.

I wanted to avoid Aggressive Refrain because of cracked armor. Flail might be a good option tho I wanted the adrenaline to fuel other skills.

Since command skills seem to be bad what could I use to replace Go For The Eyes and Find Their Weakness? Maybe a couple skills from the motivation line?

Cracked Armor isn't really that much of a problem if you're playing PvE. With a Para, your armor rating is usually high enough that monsters ignore you anyway. That's my experience anyway.

1.Flurry --> Take Agressive Refrain
2.Focused Anger
3.Go for the Eyes --> Watch yourself
4.Find Their Weakness --> Spear of fury
5.There's Nothing to Fear!
6.Save Yourself!
7.Leader's Comfort --> They're on fire!
8.Signet of Return

-Attributes-

8+1 Spear Mastery --> 11+2+1
10 Command --> 10 tactics
12+1+1 Leadership - 10+2

Adrenaline gain cant get over 100%, so 12 leadership is enough.
Also, take some SF heroes.

In which case I would drop to command to 8 + 1 for the sake of a shield, leadership to 11 + 1, and spear to 11 + 2.

If you're keen on inflicting a deep wound I would use Merciless Spear over "Find Their Weakness!" or Vicious Attack under "Go For The Eyes!".

How about this? Seems I get to keep all the defensive stuff that I wanted as well as be more of a threat damage wise. I figure I could drop "Find Their Weakness!" and use Vicious attack myself to cause dw.

-Skills-

1.Focused Anger
2.Go for the Eyes
3.Vicious Attack
4.Spear of Fury
5.There's Nothing to Fear!
6.Save Yourself!
7.Leader's Comfort
8.Signet of Return

-Attributes-

11+1+1 (13) Spear Mastery
8 Command
11+1 (12) Leadership

For PvE, Frenzy (god forbid), is actually better than Flurry.

Aggressive Refrain is still better than both, espeically if you have multiple Paragons in the party. Morgahn keeps me clean with Purifying Refrain.

I always bring more martial heroes to benefit from GftE and other attack anthems.

I don't much care for Leader's Comfort, even with Save Yourselves! you'll find you still don't get hit often enough for a self-heal. As least from personal experience anyway. Aggressive Refrain in that slot allows you to pump out more SY!'s faster making your monk's task a lot simpler.

I play a bar almost identical to that, GftE! and Leader's Comfort replaced with For Great Justice! (maintain a constant 100% adrenaline gain) and Aggressive Refrain.

IMHO if you just have save yourself + Focused anger + there's nothing to fear, you win as a paragon. Extra points if you have aggressive refrain. Yes, it is the guild wars god mode button.

At the moment I am fond of:
Spear: 10 + 1
Motivation: 9 + 4 (switch helm)
Leadership 12 + 4 (other switch)

Spear of Fury
Go for the Eyes!
Save yourself!
Focused Anger
There's Nothing to Fear!
They're on Fire!
Aggressive Refrain
Mending Refrain

Switch to motivation set for constant +4 regen on party, then go to leadership to maximize damage reduction. I didn't get the exact numbers last night, but a quick calculation says that during UW squishys would take about 15-20 damage from the lvl 28 dryders spells. Its funny seeing mending doing the majority of the needed healing. Mending is also the best way to give further help towards your party since you can't stop to cast or you lose save yourself time.

TBH signet of return isn't needed, as long as you keep everyone in shout range you just won't die. If you still want it you can swap out GftE, though that makes it hard to maintain shouts in case you run across energy denial.

Most of the time you don't really need this much damage reduction, so swap things out for offensive skills at your leisure.

Dont forget 9 command, and take Agressive refrain and an upkeep shout.

this is what i've been running for my 3 paragon combo. pretty basic.

P/W. 15spear, 12 Leadership
1. FGJ
2. Focused Anger
3. Aggresive refrain
4. TnTF!
5. SY!
6. Spear of Fury
7. Wild Throw - for those pesky stances, i rarely use it
8. Spear of Lightning

P/W. Hayda. 14spear, 11/11 command/leadership
1. Spear of Lightning
2. Spear of Redemption
3. Cruel Spear
4. FGJ
5. Flail
6. Gfte!
7. Find their weakness!
8. Fallback!

P/W. morghan. 14spear, 11/11 command/leadership
1. Spear of Lightning
2. Spear of Redemption
3. Holy Spear
4. FGJ
5. Flail
6. Defensive Anthem
7. Anthem of Flame
8. Fallback!

I run duel Fallback to keep AR up indefinitely between battles, while running thru missions 33% faster, makes the game much much more enjoyable when u can fly from mob to mob and heal at the same time.

the last hero i usually bring gwen to interrupt since thats the only lacking part of the team imo. Damage could be a little slow when dealing with mobs with stances that evade alot of physicals, but i havn't had any party wipes so far.

I'll echo this, on an SY! bar Signet of Return can be put to better use with something else. If something has died even when everyone else has +100 AL, the last thing I want to do is stop that +100 AL for 6 seconds to res someone.
